Lionsgate has announced a film adaptation of Suzanne Collins' novel “Sunrise on the Reaping,” the next “Hunger Games” prequel.
The film will be released on November 20, 2026.
Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson, producers of the previous “Hunger Games” movies, have returned to produce the next adaptation.
“Sunrise on the Reaping” is another prequel to Collins' dystopian series, set 40 years after “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.”
It all begins on the morning of the harvest day of the Reaping of the Fiftieth Hunger Games (aka the Second Quarter Quell).
Lionsgate expressed interest in making a Hunger Games prequel movie in late 2015.
